Koala and Kangaroo class had lots of fun on their Stonehenge visit. On the way there we passed two tanks on Salisbury Plain which caused lots of excitement. When we arrived at Stonehenge we were quickly divided into four groups to take part in hands on activities. We have all certainly been busy this term, especially with our Christmas play! It was fabulous, and all the children tried really hard and had lots of songs to learn. Today we spent the morning with some Year 9s at Warneford developing and learning new skills through sporting activities. The year 9s did such an amazing job we absolutely loved it!
We went to the Wyvern theatre for the Panto! (oh yes we did !) We had such an amazing time…we even had ice creams in the interval (yum). We had so many left over that we shared them with some of the more mature members of the audience. We were so impressed with the act of kindness we thought we would share the photos.
Kangaroos had a great time for the past two days preparing a shadow puppet show of a well-known traditional tale to children in Dragonfly class, one of our Reception aged classes. The children watched: Peter Pan, Goldilocks and the three bears, Little Red Riding Hood, 3 little pigs and Jack and the Beanstalk. All the reception children loved the shows and some groups even
Wow, what a fun Christmas party we have had! Thank you to the parents for the donations of all the yummy food which was thoroughly enjoyed by the children. Butterfly and Dragonfly class loved having the Christmas party together and really enjoyed all the singing, dancing and eating!
For the past two days the children of Koala class have been designing and making shadow theatres and puppets. The designs had to fit around a well-known story. This topic has allowed us to combine literacy, science and D.T, as well as develop some practical problem solving skills.
