Fox class visit to Stonehenge.
Fox class had an amazing day, despite the chilly weather, at Stonehenge near Salisbury. This was the end of our Stone Age to Iron Age topic and the children thoroughly enjoyed looking round the stones, doing some workshops about how the stones were moved, looking at artefacts and making a model of Stonehenge. We even saw a very rare Great Bustard which was called Gertrude! We looked around the museum and some Neolithic huts where we tried sleeping on their hard beds. We also got to see what they used in their daily lives. Everyone learnt a lot about Stonehenge and we were able to show our knowledge too by answering the guides’ questions.

Science Week at Warneford
Fox class had a wonderful morning taking part in experiments at Warneford Secondary school. The first activity was meeting a reptiles expert from Crocodile World. The children had the chance to stroke a bearded dragon, a snake, and a small crocodile. Our next activity was testing which chocolate would melt the fastest in a bowl of warm water. After that we did some experiments with light using a light box and a prism. All the teachers were friendly and interesting, and we learnt a lot. Here are some photographs of our time there.

Rocktopus fitness fun!
We had a very energetic Friday morning with the Rocktopus band. We made up our own dance moves and song lyrics for a Wake up song. At the end we recorded a video which we can share with all parents and pupils. It was a fun morning and the Rocktopus band were brilliant!

Design Technology
Fox class had a great last week of term doing their Design Technology project making pneumatic trains. We researched how to use syringes and tubing to make a pneumatic model and then came up with different designs of a tunnel and train front. On our making day we decorated the cereal box as our tunnel and made our train out of a cardboard tube. We all found it tricky to attach the syringe to the train. But we overcame that with perseverance. All the children took their trains home to show off to their parents after working so hard on the project.
