Lunchtime at Westrop is a very important part of the day. It is hugely beneficial to children to be able to get a break and sit together with their peers and enjoy a healthy meal. Children can choose to have a hot lunch or bring their own packed lunch from home. School Lunches are booked online via our School Lunches partner. The lunches are cooked in school and served in our hall. The children get to eat together and get time to with others in their class and play outside too.
If your child would prefer a packed lunch we encourage children to have healthy lunches. No sweets or fizzy drinks should be included. We are a nut free school, so no nuts, or nut butters or chocolate hazelnut spreads should be included in their lunches or snacks. Our friendly MDSAs monitor the children’s eating and encourage those who are taking lots of time, to finish lunch so they can get some time outside.
All children in Reception and years 1 and 2 are eligible for a free school meal. For those families who are on low incomes or certain benefits you can apply for Free School Meals here.
