In response to Government guidelines that schools must have a contingency plan in place for remote education provision, should a class, group or small number of pupils need to self-isolate, or there is a local lockdown requiring pupils to remain at home, Westrop's enhanced remote learning provision is as follows:
Seesaw will have lessons uploaded each day for your child to complete. These may include a short video from the Oak Academy, or worksheets to complete.
Thank you so much for all your support with home learning, we are delighted by so many of the wonderful things your children have been doing. It has amazed us how families have turned their homes into a learning environment with such short notice and resources, we are eternally grateful for all your hard work and support during these unusual times. We appreciate that most of this learning is through screens and as a school and something your children are not used to in school.
We are excited to share that we have introduced a ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ where your child will be able to enjoy a choice of activities which are not screen based and linked primarily to their wellbeing and fitness. We are very aware that mental health is of such importance, particularly in these uncertain times and by taking some time as a family to focus on wellbeing we hope this in some way, this will lessen the pressure and give children some time free from screens.
If it does not fit with your family routine, please do swap with another afternoon and think of your own catchy name such as mindfulness Monday, please do make sure that you find an afternoon to step away from remote learning and give some time back to yourselves as a family.

Please do not upload evidence of these activities to SeeSaw, this is entirely for you and your family to sit back and enjoy. If you have children in more than one year group, please feel free to choose the activity which your family will enjoy most for than week.
