I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone visiting our website. Westrop Primary school is a vibrant and welcoming place where the children are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in teaching skills, sharing knowledge and building special memories that children will take with them through the rest of their lives, giving them a solid foundation for their future.

We offer a rich and diverse curriculum where children get opportunities to explore exciting topics through the International Primary Curriculum which is linked to the programme of study of the National Curriculum 2014.

All members of staff at Westrop Primary School, both teaching and non- teaching, are committed to providing a broad, balanced and relevant education for all the children within a supportive and caring environment. They seek to build the self-esteem of all children through a policy of equal opportunity. All staff work hard to ensure that relationships throughout the school are based on mutual trust and respect as the school strongly believes that it is through secure relationships that the children respond with positive attitudes and understanding of their work and to others.

Westrop Primary is a school where all children are valued and where all staff work hard to help every child reach his or her full potential. Children work in a very caring, stimulating school environment and respond well to the schools positive discipline policy and the school’s ethos of Working Together for Success.
Developing personal skills for learning is a large part of our school. We encourage children to understand each skill and work towards demonstrating these in their work, play and social development. Every term we have a different personal learning skill which we share and discuss in assemblies and in class, children earn recognition for their achievement.
Look out for some fantastic skills – based artwork through our school.
Parents play a crucial role in the education of their child and as a result we are keen to forge strong links between home and school. The success of our school is dependent upon the strength of the partnerships we build with everyone in our school community. Parents are encouraged to take part in their children’s education and are welcome into school whenever possible.

The governing body is very supportive of the school and works in close partnership with the school’s philosophy, that all children have a right to succeed and that all children have a right to an excellent education.

If you would like to know more about our school then please contact the school administrator Mrs Samantha Humphreys who will be happy to answer your questions or arrange an appointment for you to meet with me and view the school.
